Gesias 'JZ' Cavalcante

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro.
At the age of 13, Gesias started training in Luta Livre under Marcus Vinicius Corval. Gesias trained Luta Livre until the age of 19, during this time he received his Black Belt.
Gesias met Ricardo Liborio and was invited to train with American Top Team where he became a member in August of 2003. He has since acquired the rank of Purple Belt in BJJ.
Gesias had a breakout fight against Monma in the 1st round of the HERO's/K-1 tournament where JZ scored a devastating KO over Monma.
JZ became the 2006 K-1 HERO'S Middleweight Tournament Champion by choking out Rani Yahira and defeating Caol Uno in the finals.
JZ successfully defended his K-1 Belt the following year by beating the #1 fighter in Vitor "Shaolin" Riberio by TKO and then armbarring Dida in the finals. He is now the 2x K-1 HERO'S Tournament Champion! |

Denis is considered one of the top Welterweights (183#'s) in the World. He has fought multiple times in the highly regarded PRIDE Bushido organization in Japan.

Jorge Santiago

At around the age of 11 Jorge trained in Judo. in 1996 Jorghino moved on to training BJJ under Angelo Manoovane. He trained for 4 yrs with Angelo before moving on to train with BTT.
Jorge moved to Florida in June of 2002 where he began training with ATT full time.
Jorge received his black belt from Ricardo Liborio in BJJ Dec. '03.
Jorge is a veteran of the UFC and had a successful debut knocking out Justin Levens.

Marcelo Garcia

At the age of 25, Marcelo Garcia, a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu under Fabio Gurgel of Alliance team, is known as one of the top jiu jitsu and submission grappling fighters. Marcelo has five world championship titles in Bjj, two of them as a black belt, 2004 and 2006, and many submission titles, including the most prestigious one, the ADCC, in which Marcelo not only won his weight category three times in a roll (2003 / 2005/ 2007) but also was awarded most technical fighter in 2003 and 2007 wining the award for best fight in 2005, where he also got third place in the absolute division, putting quite a show, and winning the crowd , again in 2007 Marcelo submits all his fights but the final of the absolute, and gets 2nd place in the absolute.
He joined American Top Team on Jan. 7th, 2008 to further his mma career.

In Brazil, Marcus competed regularly with the Gi, once defeating the legendary Royler Gracie.
Marcus's big break fighting came in the ZST Grand Prix Tournament Japan in Jan. of '04. He went on to defeat Imanari (decision), Morkevicius (triangle choke), and Rich Clementi (broken nose-tapped out) all in the same night.
Marcus had his dream match against the #1 Lightweight in the World Takanori Gomi - whom he defeated and put to sleep by katagatme choke in the first round! This is something no other fighter has been able to accomplish. This represents a tremendous win for Marcus and ATT!

Steve Bruno

Steve was born and raised in NY. At around the age of 16 Steve started training in Burmese boxing.
Steve moved to San Diego where he continued his training. He tried out for the Lions Den and made the team. He also spent time training with Charlie Kohler. Steve credits Erik Delfierro from Reyes Kickboxing with helping develop his stand up.
Steve also served time in the Navy from '99 -'04. While there, he served our country in Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq.
In April of '04 Steve moved to Florida where he has been training full-time with ATT.
Steve fought and won Spirit MC Middleweight Title 4/22/07, and recently signed on with the UFC.

Mario made a huge impact during his pro debut at the AFC where he wowed the crowd with his raw strength and athletic ability.
Mario's signature move is a back flip after his matches. At 304#'s it is a sight to behold. He has quickly become a crowd favorite!
Mario wrestled for a Div. 1 school in Delaware before knee problems put his wrestling career on hold.
Mario participated in the 2007 ADCC World Submission Wrestling Tournament

Tubarao started training under the legendary Carlson Gracie where he competed for 5 years.
After the split, Tubarao followed his Master (Liborio) to BTT where he trained for 2 years before coming to Florida in May of 2002 to join ATT.
Tubarao won the World (Mundials) Championship in 2001,
and was runner-up in 2000. He was also a Brazilian Champ '99, and competed in the prestigious Abu Dhabi tournament where he placed 3rd in 2001.

Conan studied judo as a child under Prof. Petrucio Monteiro, a few years later he started "freestyle" training under Roberto Leitao Sr. and Paulo Roberto Carvalho. Conan also trained under the legendary Carslon Gracie Sr. academy earning his black belt in Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu.
Conan moved to Miami in 1989 and opened his first academy in 1991 in Miami Beach.
