The day one super match pitted American Top Team’s Ricardo Liborio vs Mario Sperry. After 20 minutes including 2 overtimes, the judges gave the nod to Liborio, winning his first ADCC superfight grappling match. There was tremendous anticipation leading up to this match, as both are widely consdered legends in the sport, as well as their roots to Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Great to see these two legends giving it their all on the mats. Congrats Libo, we are all proud of you!
Also shout out to Hector Lombard who put on a great showing dominating his first match, before losing a close judges decision to Alexandre Riberio and to Tammi Musumeci on her Bronze medal performance. Inspiring performances by all!
